Eolys Fluid What A Dirty Job

Featured Replies

Today it was the turn of the p1932 and p2585. on the missus 56 plate 1.6TDCI 85000 miles

P1932 - Fuel Additive low

P2585 - Fuel Additive control module warning lamp request

Red light illuminated on dash with message "Engine System Fault"

Thankfully I have access to some decent diagnostic equipment.

So it requires Eolys fluid what a messy job it is

GLOVES, SAFETY SPECS,OLD CLOTHES ARE NEEDED FOR SAFETY

so on this car the tank with its filling point is just behind the fuel tank and to the left, one stubby port on the side of the tank and another just above on a length of plastic pipe, this is the filling pipe, it has a plug on the end with a plastic(blue) clip that you push in and pull off at the same time.

A small amount may drop down onto you so beware your eyes (safety specs).

I Bought the Eloys from Euro Car Parts and a filling kit.

The tank requires 1.8 Ltrs

I already had some fluid so I bought a new filling kit and 1 Ltr of fluid £42.12.in total.

The filling kit was about £10 you get 2 types of screw filling lids a length of clear pipe and some ends ,one of which is the same click on end , just like a fuel connector.

SO click on the connector and push the fluid in and TYPICAL the cap fit is rubbish just as well I had a spare 1 Ltr because 1/3 went down my blooming arm (big long rubber gauntlets) . The pipe is long enough to get the bottle out the back of the car and vertical, your fingers/hands will hurt from squeezing ....

!.8 Ltrs later  a lot later it takes its time to fill .....Filling done :D.

NOW CLEAN UP YA DIRTY PEOPLE

As for resetting the fluid counter I used a Bosch kts 200 this resets the counter and then it enables the engine system fault to be cleared.

I should have taken pics but I am useless , I will learn one day :P

Personally i would have just deleted the DPF
