Ford Focus Mk1 Central Locking Problem

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm after a bit of advise. My car has central locking (not remote).

I have a Focus Estate and the Central locking is playing up. The problem I have is that my central locking only works from my passenger front door with the key. So i have to unlock that door and walk back round to get in.

I have replaced the motor in the drivers door but this seems to have caused more issues as my car still only unlocks from the passenger door but also now the lock on the front door doesn't work at all, cant even unlock/lock the door.

Also, my central locking doesn't work at all in a morning.

Can anyone please help.... i cant keep climbing over my passenger seat to get in and out my car lol

Unless its a 1.4 the car would have had a remote the lock youve fitted could be faulty but it sounds like a wiring issue in the door plugs an auto electrician would be best to be honest the wires get corroded and break on some cars causing the issues you describe youde need to test the wiring with a multi metre to determine if theres power goimg to the lock then work backwards
