Focus 6000Cd Aux Again!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Anyone know of a quick fix before I dismantle my glove box etc. Aux working fine on my 09 Zetec then went to pick my son up tonight, plugged in my Iphone to listen to music and dead. Tried his phone and still nothing so must be car/cable. Cable is plugged in all the time in glovebox and not been removed since it last worked.

HELP!! and thanks.

As you said it looks like youll need to pop the glovebox out im afraid not really any other way round it

Its not tricky or even that time consuming but before you try that, try replacing the cable your using to connect the phone, I noticed the other day it was getting nipped when I closed the box, wouldn't take much of that to damage it

Hi Darren,

Thank you for replying.

I have tried a different cable and phone so the problem lies with the car/stereo I think. Had a look behind the glove box and everything is plugged in looks good etc. I know I shouldn't do it but I inserted a tiny nail into the socket to see if I could get any response from the speakers but nothing again even with the sound turned right up. Surely I would of got some sort of crackle or loud noise with this inserted, strange how it just stopped working when nothing has been disturbed. Everything else radio etc is fine.

Regards

Hi again,

I have just tried to connect my phone and when I press the green button I get MUTE on the display. Something not right here, could this be connected to the aux problem?

Depending which Bluetooth module you have the aux connection may be connected through the BT module as apposed to the headunit

Hi Darren,

Mmmm have bitten the bullet and taken it down to my local Ford garage. They tried the quick take the battery off fix, no good. Mechanic says will have to put on diagnostic machine and hopefully update firmware etc, maybe reset if possible. If not will be a new Bluetooth unit. Never mind eh?

Thanks for your help anyway.

Regards
