I know, they would take 550 but no way!

I've found one on there from the new st and that's 450 I am hoping he might take a deal on it!

Android phone on a cradle. Doesn't look as good but a lot cheaper and free map updates..

That's a bit more like it. What age is your car? Can these sat-nav units be retrofitted with all functions intact?

EDIT: just noticed the £600 one isn't even a Sony head unit!! Are none of the sat-navs Sony?

My cars a 2011 model, yeah you can get some aftermarket ones but is rather have a genuine ford part.

It just depends on price!

From what I've seen on breakers yards and eBay it just depends on what model you get it from.

Mine is an early 2011 model (April) without DAB. What about yours?

Not forgetting the wiring looms between them, and most importantly, the modules to enable it all to work.

Nothing yet mate, I've got a few breakers that will tell me when they have one.

All that was included on the one I was looking at but wasn't going to get it for £600!

Cheers though mate!

Do you know it will definitely work though? What about connectors compatibility? I just can't imagine it being plug and play whilst keeping all functions :(

Well the guy at the breakers said it should just be take out the old system and plug in new one.

I did think it sounded to easy if I'm honest.

Well if I were you (and I have to do this myself) I would find out the connector type at the back of the head unit, because if you have the old style, there is no way it's going to work AFAIK.post-55595-141061339569_thumb.jpg

Thanks for that mate great help!

No worries. Hopefully we will both have the top one (you almost certainly will have)...then physically it will plug but, will it play? :)

I am hoping it will mate, just need to get hold of one that isn't stupid money!

Check yours first tho

I am purity sure it won't be a straight swap as mine is dab so it will be different.

I will get it out to double check it though just to see!

If yours *IS* dab then you are already half way there as I think the loom plugs are the same. Mine isn't dab so I think I will be foobar'd.
