Sat Nav System

Featured Replies

Just a quick update: I bought an OEM Fiesta 2013 satnav unit after checking the plugs on the back of my existing unit (I have the new 24 pin connector fortunately, but no second connector presumably as I don't have DAB or SYNC?)...anyway...the satnav kicked in fine apart from no GPS as that's not wired in yet. Also, to my surprise, DAB just worked...straight away.

What didn't work is the phone stuff, SYNC, and AUX input as they are all routed through the SYNC module. I only have the Bluetooth version. I have ordered a SYNC module and will get that wired in (some re-wiring needed) and hopefully it will all work.

Ok mate, keep me updated as only sounds like I have the same standard stereo system as you did.

How much did you end up paying for one as well?

Paid £430 all in

Ouch, that's a big hit. Tbh I haven't seen one as cheap as that though unless it's a aftermarket one :(

Cracking price considering new it's about 1.5k from Ford I think :)

I thought the my were cheaper than that I thought they were like 500 haha but if they are that that's a bargain really.

Did your old module have bluetooth / USB because I might be interested in buying it.

Yep, Bluetooth and USB.

But no sync right?

Correct :)

Well if you ever want to sell it give me a shout

Well assuming all goes well with the SYNC module then it will definitely be available :)

  • 3 weeks later...

Have got virtually all the parts now for the satnav/SYNC upgrade so will know if my current bluetooth unit is going spare sooner rather than later if you are still interested?

OK hope it's a good price ;)

Keep me updated when you install your new module and hope it goes OK.

How much are the going for, do you know?

Should be fitting it all next weekend...fingers crossed! :)

Worth about a fiver I'd say ;)

Personally I think you'll struggle to sell it seeing as it doesn't have sync. There's also the fact the some things need activating by ford to make them work.

Will have a look on eBay to see if any similar have sold, and at what price.

Willy, won't be selling the Bluetooth module now, sorry: the sat nav install didn't work in my model :(

What sat nav did you get from which model as I was looking into it but wanted to see how you go on first

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

No worries. Fiestas are a pain when its comes to stuff like this. A trip to Ford for activating with there IDS is your only option I'm afraid.

Yup you could be right. Think I will just sell on all the sat nav stuff.

Would price do you want for the nav system and how much is it for ford to programme it if you know?

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

It's about an hour's labour so £80 - 100 if they know how to do it.

Inath is the man to ask about these things.

I would be looking for OIRO £650...it comes with the display (inc 2013 SD maps), audio unit, head unit, plus: brand new cooling hose (£20), brand new cradle for display (£14), brand new full fakra cables (£100), brand new GPS unit (£42), SYNC unit (£100 but this one is from a scrappy), FM aerial and booster, plus would throw in new sync media cable (complete but needs one of the multi plugs re-soldering to it (included)). Always open to offers for it all anyway.

You need to provide the know-how, patience and money for Ford :)

I've listed it in the for sale forum
