My Key?

Featured Replies

My partner accidently created mykey. When I start the car up it says my key has been activated and 8mph speed limit is active. When I go to menu and go down to mykey all I can do is press on. I can't get onto it or select any settings, I can't clear it or turn it off, there shut no settings to do it.

How can I just turn it off so I'm not limited?

There should be a master key which doesn't have mykey set on it (I think this one would have been used to create mykey in the first place) - you need to put this in the car with the other one out of range, assuming it's keyless, and disable it that way. If you only have one key and it was configured using that then you may be stuck.

I have a spare key, so put that one in and I can turn my key off that way? The key I usually use is now the mykey set one. It doesn't make it clear in the manual that you have to use the key that isn't mykey to clear it off! Lol. I'll give it a go, cheers mate

I've never set it up myself, but from what I remember there's one 'master key' (or whatever it's called) that doesn't have the mykey limitations set and is the only one which can be used to edit the settings or remove it. So yeh, try with the spare and hopefully it will work!

The master key is the one that sets the my key up in the first place. Obviously it'll be setting it up for the opposite person if you're adding restrictions, etc, otherwise they'd be able to turn them off:) so if the key your using is restricted, grab the other one.
