The 1.6 ecoboost always had discs AFAIK.

Zetec S always gets discs regardless of engine.

....And saying hello to a New 64 plate focus ST3 lol thought I'd leave a suspense :L lol I would've waited for the facelift but I like the ST the way it is just now lol :D

Why are you waiting? The engines are tested in the factory, I don't see the problem in pushing it a bit when new.

My dad did it with his Range Rover when we picked it up. He was doing 90mph before the car had even done 20 miles! It's 9 months old now and thee have been no problems whatsoever.

Its not so much the engine, but the clutch and brakes.

It says about taking it easy for the first 1000 miles in the handbook.

When I first got the car the brakes were terrible and I want to let the clutch bed in before I put too much torque through it. Plus if I pick up speed, I need the confidence in the brakes to slow down again, lol.

I'll be going with flow 70,80,even 90 in places without over revs If anything like the 125 3000 revs and cruising at 80 85

I have done 2000 miles now so giving it some stick - it is very easy to speed in it.

Active limiter is a bit twitchy, likes to de-activate itself if you wobble a bit on the throttle and depending how far your foot has crept down it engages the warp drive and gives you a bit of a shock. Usually in 50 mph restrictions lol

I don't take mine over 3k revs for first 1000 miles, speed not an issue.

Gonna wait until I've done at least 1000miles before I give it some stick but so far all good doing about 34mpg.

First off I want to thank you all for your contributions. Couldn't find much online about the Zetec S 1.5 till I decided to see if a Ford forum had anything (Used to post to Corsa D in the past).

Just put down my order for it in Red & only option being cruise control. Appearance pack was tempting & so was the Sync 2 (Which ironically Ford have just announced the replacement for http://techcrunch.com/2014/12/11/ford-ditches-microsoft-for-qnx-in-latest-in-vehicle-tech-platform/ )

Cheapest price I found was through orangewheels of £15,974 (without cruise control) which will mean a little trek upto Halifax to pick up. Dealer mentioned that Ford were also offering the Convenience pack for around £500-600 (as I wasn't that interested I can't remember the exact price!)

Plan to get her in March so she can wear a "15" plate. All the discussion of banning diesels from low emission zones, potentially changing vehicle duty from CO2 to NOx & the fact that petrol is getting a lot better all round for economy means it was a "perfect storm".

And if anyone is interested in what I currently drive, which I plan to keep as a second car, it is my trusty Corsa. It will be interesting to see if a Vauxhall & a Ford can happily share a home! Got my SRi 1.7cdti back when the swappage scheme was going on so got £3k off for trading in my old '02 206 1.1! She does 0-60 in the low 8s but still manages 50-53mpg & VED of £30. 225lb ft means the front tyres never last too long (no idea why they didn't fit a diff).

Anyhow I am rambling now! Can't wait to keep reading how you are all finding yours whilst I wait for mine!

Edit: Just remembered what I was going to say! I wonder if there will be a Mountune kit. Would be nice to boost the 150 to 182+!

Just picked my baby up 😀😀😀

I'm getting about 34 MPG around town, depends where you are driving it.

What happens with the ford sync as the microsoft will be replaced by blackberry in 2016 i believe making the old system redundant i doubt microsoft will keep applying fixes and updates for the audio system

I imagine it will be in the contract between Microsoft and Ford to continue to support it.

It is just a form of Windows Embedded/CE, no reason they can't continue to support it.

An element of support will be offered but they would probably revert to flashing firmware on the devices but much like windows of all ages they have a support window before they stop supporting it. Most the time though issues are more with modules and software than defects in the software itsrlf
