Ecoboost Mountune Induction Sound Question

Featured Replies

Question for you guys.

I've never really noticed any induction noise since installing the Mountune kit to my Ecoboost Fiesta until last night. It was damp and cool and the car was loving it and noticed some induction noise (psst noise) for the first time however after a while there was a little squeak noise too. What do you all recon?

no offence mate (about to speak about a corsa COFF COFF) but ma mate had a corsa vxr and it made the same thing he took it to the garage and they said the squeak noise was the air getting sucked in slower so the noise was like you sucking in air through ur mouth and it made a squeek or a bottle of fizzy juice as air escapes lol but just saying thats what was happening to his lol

He he, maybe ;)

I hear my making a slight whistle when changing gear (havnt got an induction kit though), makes me have the window down on quiet roads to hear it :p aha

I normally have the radio on but not last night. Must forget to put on the radio more often :)

Slightly off topic but would a panel filter (K&N, Pipercross) make a noticeable difference to the induction sound?

I'd say no. Mine didn't make any difference in sound in ether the Fiesta or Focus ST

Mine always makes a noise when I change gear

you're hearing the recirculating valve. As said you can hear it on standard cars, especially with the windows down, and an induction kit makes it louder. My pumaspeed one makes it alot louder, so much so that i dont think i will put it back on.

Was fun at first but gets annoying, especially when the rest of the car is so quiet

This is what I like to do, windows down just to hear the noises the engine makes :)

I'm finding I don't use the radio as much as I did in my old car just so I can hear the nice engine sounds, although the ST has the Sound Symposer so that makes it better. I'd love to hear what the 1.0L would sound like with the Symposer, the 3 cylinders should give a better sound.

Willy would you say it's louder than normal one?

I've never herd it until the induction was installed so would have to say yes. It's not that loud now so doesn't upset the old lady's down my road ;)

Haha a love that noise n am sure they would like it haha
