Got up this morning to find this misses had taken the car to work, not happy as had plans for it, she got back at 4 and I set to work

Mirror caps off

New chrome indicator bulb fitted

And new mirror cap in the same colour as the wheels and side stripes, not too sure about them yet so opinions welcome, will take better pics tomorrow.

Front plastics off

Really need to get my Mountune intercooler fitted

Gloss black plastics on

Fitted halfords ultrabrilliance H11 foglight bulbs while I was at it

Fitted the painted engine cover

Autospecialists washer cap

Also fitted the front camera of my blackvue 650 kit, need to fit the rear camera and get some piggyback fuse holders so I can hardwire the power supply.

Hiding the keys tonight so I can give the car a good wash tomorrow.

Can an admin or mod delete the 3 duplicate threads please, ipad was playing up. Cheers

Ah nice, are these parts you bought or did you paint them yourself? Really like the engine cover looks stunning. I have thought about changing the mirror covers to chrome ones but not done anything about it yet.

Easiest way to get the wing mirror off is by pulling the actual glass mirror away carefully as it's connected by two wires (heated), let it dangle out the way, then you can easily push the tabs in while holding the cap so it doesn't drop on the floor. Takes 2 mins for both :)

Thanks, I might have a go tomorrow. Did you use a trim tool to get the glass part off, and does it come straight out or need to be pulled up or down?

I bought a set of plastics from ford and got a bodyshop to smooth and paint them, bought a pair of wing mirror caps too, the engine cover is the original one.

If you can't get a local bodyshop to paint them try either stoneacre ford in York or sico-developments, both will post them to you and will do them cheaper on exchange.

Angle the lens down, look inside to locate the 3 clips, using a flat blade screwdriver push the clip up slightly then forward, hold the cap though or put something on the floor in case it falls.

Also fitted the Mountune short shift, new I had forgotten something, my grazed knuckles reminded me lol

Im not 100 % on the Mirrors too but I'm old and prefer body colour, but maybe a wide shot showing it matching wheels would make a difference. Also as you say, you want to be different. Its like I don't like Black wheels and the younger ones do

It should have come with black grills from the factory really, they were on the concept/show cars which also had black headlights, they do make the front end look better. Need to fit the back one now.

Mountune sticker is their fuel cap one but I don't like it there.

Short shift, to me it's make a noticeable difference, the shift is obviously short her but also feels more positive. It is a pain to fit though as there is not much room, depends on what your like with that sort of stuff.

Not too sure myself, misses doesn't like them so I might keep them on just to annoy her, will take some better pics later.

I'm not a fan of black wheels, they do look good on some cars white in particular but, it tends to make the wheels look smaller.

They are fairly easy to remove, they do creak a bit so you think they are going to break

The 3 clips near the edge are what you need to release using a flat screwdriver, angle the mirror down and you will be able to see them inside. Aslong as your not to heavy handed you won't break them

The colour (Volvo anthracite 932) is a spot on match for the wheels, it just looks a little lighter as they are more in the light than the wheels.

Yeah better pics. Does actually suit the wheels and decals. Looks like my titanium (same colour) on steroids :)

Looking well I do need to get the set off plastics. I currently have all the front ones off and put 2coats of back to black on them as they we're waxy from my heavy hand.

Any idea how to get the back one off?

I also want the black around mirrors, strips on the roof, and the little black things in wheel arches (anyone know what these are for) doing piano black.

The only thing that's missing from looking at your photos is some tyre dressing. You need some glossy tyres to go with the glossy plastic :)

Looking good, I've started putting 2 coats of the stuff on the tyres every time I wash it.
