Clatter At Low Revs Under Load

Featured Replies

Just had an injector replaced and now its started with this diesel clatter at low revs but only under load. If revved at idle it sounds fine. When revs, get a little higher it goes away. Also dosnt happen if I am gentler in the throttle. Its never done this before, and it was doing it before the injector was coded to the ecu. There are no error codes coming up at all, and in essense car drives fine. It seems to do this in all gears. I am a bit stumped as to whats happened.

Just a bit more to add to this. It only does this when at its operating temperature if its only a little below operating temperature then its nowhere near as bad. It sounds like if you try to pull away in to low a gear. Last heard this when I tried to start the car after I had put the filter seal in the wrong way and was trying to start with easy start. I feel it's likely a fueling issue as it's starting as soon as no. 2 injector was replaced. I do wonder if now it's firing properly on 2 that the other Injectors are a bit iffy. Does this sound credible? Its really annoying as its only between 1200 and 2000revs after this it goes away. Engine is pulling like a train no matter what. Is there such a thing as diesel pre ignition?

Also some hesitation at low revs as well.

I have a clatter coming from my passenger side as well when accelerating under load. I put it down to a loose heat shield in the engine bay. Mines a petrol btw.

Sent from my iPhone 5s.
