Mk Ii Alarm Issues

Featured Replies

I have a couple of issues with the alarm on an '07 Ghia. On opening the doors with the remote & just sitting in the car, the doors will shortly after lock & arm the alarm. So any movement sets it off. I suspect this is due to the driver's door ajar switch not working so is possibly expected behaviour?

But something similar happens when opening the bonnet. Disarm the alrm with the remote & it again re-arms itself shortly after. Then the alarm goes off because the bonnet is open.

And talking of the bonnet, is there a technique for closing it without having to simulataneously slam it while trying to hold the badge out of the way in a way that won't also slam your fingers? :(

Edit - forgot the auto title formatting can't do II or be edited...
