Sony Dab System

Featured Replies

This may sound a stupid question but not having a DAB before in my car i would like to know if it's normal to constantly keep losing the station or is there something wrong do you think. Not one station in particular it happens on them all. In the end i just keep switching to FM and be done with it.

Most of the time It's actually not the dabs fault lol most the time it's because of the area you live in because where dab does reach there are many pockets of dabless areas aswell but never had it with all channels only a selected few

I had DAB installed as the FM reception where I drive tends to be bad in a few places. Funnily enough, the DAB reception is pretty similar, dropping out in the same areas. The problem is transmission coverage rather than the actual radio.

Yeah get this too now and then. Sometimes as it changes to another area it sounds different also.

Thats why they're not switching off the fm just yet because of the patchy dab coverage

Dab is terrible anyway, It's outdated and was never fully implemented due to frequency clutter and patchy coverage.

Dab+ was meant to be rolled out a couple of years ago but nothing yet.

Stick to streaming internet radio from a phone, every channel, free to set up.

Minimal data charges apply.

Same problems here, mainly driving through areas with tall buildings nearby. It's quite annoying but I just put up with it, I'm mostly focussed on the driving, the radio is just providing background noise lol.

My car is in at the stealers with the very same thing being checked.

I've just come to the conclusion that DAB is !Removed!. Only good thing was Absolute 80's lol.

There's an app for that ;)

I use radio player and tunein radio for internet radio its easier than fm radio and more options!

Absolute 60's for me cos i'm an old git but i know what you mean

My DAB is ok except as I drive past Elland Road on the M621 in Leeds where it drops in and out.

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC mobile app

Never had an issue with it, plus it swaps to the equivalent FM frequency if it's available when the signal does drop.

Unfortunately the oldboy stations i listen to don't have an FM equivalent
