Power Steering Leak Help

Featured Replies

Change anyone advice on a power steering leak from the union on the pump I have just replaced my mates engine on his 1.8 2000 zetec all working ok the prob I have is that the power steering fluid is absolutely pouring out of the union to the pump it's as tight as I can go with it and after asking they say there is no seal just a tight fit stops it leaking.

Anyone else experienced this or am I missing something even tried a different pump still the same

Any advice pointers appreciated

Thanks for that Arthur as always ford parts personnel are use less when I asked if there was a seal he said no just a tight fit thanks again will get on ordered .

Well usually with any liquid a tight fit doesnt do the job with the system under pressure ide assume almost every bolt will have a seal in it or pressure would win.

I tend not to rely on ford parts guys almost always they give me the wrong stuff last time it was the wrong pollen filter which i didnt realise till it was stripped and ready for the new one
