NL06NKA
Hello all I have just bought 18" alloys for my Ford Focus MK2.5 and I am wondering if I am going to face any problems once they are fitted ? Will the spring rub off them ? Will I be able to turn my wheel fully ? Any other info would be appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Ford recommend when fitting 18x8.0 wheels or bigger that you fit the steering limiter kit. It's not expensive, basically just a ring that prevents full lock. NL06NKA
The width is 8J I think ? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
Definitely need a limiting kit or else you will catch the arch liner and arch on full lock.

luke.grimbley
Yeah, 8J stick the limiting kit on. As Stoney said you will be rubbing on full lock. I'm sure it's about £20 from Ford.
luke.grimbley
Will I be able to do a full lock with the limiter on ? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC No the limiter is to prevent full lock. The ST/RS come with it as standard. If you go to full lock with the 8J wheels they will rub on the arch liners. Stoney871
You only lose a small bit of lock but you gain kerb appeal ;)
NL06NKA
Ok so you know how much they are roughly and how do you fit them Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Stoney871
They're about £15 and you need to order Finis code 1342639. Remove the wheel and then unclip the steering rack gaitor.Turn the steering full lock and then clip the limiter/bush over the steering rack pinion (at the end of the teeth/grooves)Re-fit the gaitor using one of the new clips as the old one will usually get damaged.Turn the steering full lock the other way and repeat this procedure. There is usually a small diagram in the kit when you buy it from ford.On the Focus there are already limiters/ bushes fitted but these need to be removed and changed with the new ones.
