Does anyone know how to get the things out and open without damaging them? I can't figure it out. I feel like if I try much harder, they're going to break,

Car is a Mk 2.5 10 reg Titanium. Looks like it is fitted with 501's.

Not tried it myself but read on here that you can get them out easier by removing the inner trim panel for the boot and push them out of the finisher through the exposed metal panels. The trim has 2 torx screws in the handles where you pull down the tailgate then just pulls off with 6 or 7 metal clips into the metal panel.

shove a small screw driver up the wee gap to the side opposite the bulb, there is a small spring clip in there attached to the holder, push that back towards the bulb and pull it down and out. it doesn't need much force at all

if your wanting to remove the whole thing, pop the 2 torx screws in the boot handles, tha plastic backing is just held on with half a dozen clips, pull directly away from the boot door and it ill fall off, careful you don't drop it!

once the cover is off there are 4 nuts that need undone that hold the trim where the lights are kept in place, pop the nuts off and remove the trim.

if its just the bulbs you want to change you don't need to do any of that second paragraph though
