Hello, just bought a Focus1.6 2007 Zetec, and noticed this evening that the small screen on the dash board, where it shows the mileage, etc it.s stays on even after i lock the car. Any help please?

Ford should whack a message on it telling everyone its normal which it is the amount of people that have asked that question lol some vws do it also silly idea i know it Can stay on for up to 40 mins as the ecu monitors the car after you switch it off keeping an eye on under bonnet temps etc

yes its normal. Mine stays on for about 30 mins after car is stopped.

I never knew the reason for this staying on but know I know :)

it shouldnt be on for any longer than an hour.

If it is, then your CANBUS system is not shutting down which means you risk and will suffer flat batteries if your not careful. It could be anything as simple as the ignition barrel needs replacing, to a bad wiring, or even replacing the stereo with an aftermarket can cause the CANBUS the confusion.
