For focus 2006 1.8 diesel titanium, I have engine systems fault (http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/62088-engine-systems-fault-2006-diesel-focus-titanium-please-help/) light up and want to thank APJ for his help so far but was wondering about getting a code reader to see if I can shed any more light before I attempt to start unbolting the EGR valve. So, I was wondering, how do I get these codes? I have seen an app for my android phone called torque but how do I get the codes from the car to my phone (yeah bluetooth I know but what piece of kit do I need to buy?)

Hi Paul,

You need to buy a bluetooth adapter from ebay, then plug it in, use your phone to detect the bluetooth and pair to it.

Then, open Torque up, create a vehicle profile (be as accurate as you can with the data).

Final step is to go into the options, and connection settings, choose bluetooth from the list and then your bluetooth OBD adapter.

Final stage is to back out and go into the code code scanner part (trouble codes in the main dashboard) and then just let it connect, and click to scan.

At the risk of sounding thick is there a specific adaptor I need? I just did an ebay search and the were hundreds of the buggers!
