Airbag Light

Featured Replies

Any advice ?

I have just put a new drivers seat in my 2010 4 door zetec. Disconnected battery , took the 4 bolts out then disconnected airbag. Connected new airbag plug, put the 4 bolts back reconnected battery. Waited 5 mins started car and after 10 seconds airbag light came on and stayed on ?

I got told this was the correct way to avoid light coming on ?

Would be worth disconnecting the seat again and checking there are no bent pins or backed out connectors in the male and female plugs.

Cheers troy45, will disconnect everything and have a good look round, my mate said to check that the 3 connections line up the same as the old seat ? Didn't even cross my mind that one lol

What a palavor , turned out the seat that I got was from a 2011 titanium not a 2010 Zetec . The connectors were in different locations on the plug, plus they had different lugs, so had to cut the old connectors off and reconnect.

But all good airbag light on dash is off :D

Moral of the story , dont believe breakers who tell you " don't worry mate it will fit for sure "

Hope this will help anyone in the future
