Ianb
Sorry I just don't get it... Hanging out like a bunch of Melvins in a 24 hour supermarket car park with your little blue lights, red lights on, beeping your horns and occasionally attempting rather pathetic donuts... Oh and the fog lights.... Perhaps I'm the odd one out here, maybe there is more to it than meets the eye... Just seems a little lame... Ianb
For the record I do understand photo shoots and trying to get some quirky night shots for fun, but yelling to each other and blinding everyone around with fog lights seems a tad pointless... Brycie
I don't know, it's misspent youth mate. When I was young I used to do something far more useful with my time, like getting into pubs under age or getting drunk in the local park trying to pull birds. The Clitheroe Crew prefer to do the whole convoy of cars/engine revving/ horn blowing thing in the McDonald's car park. Which is annoying as it's at the top of our road. I ain't lovin' it! Maccie D's litter dumped out of their Windows. When I was a yoof though I used to like driving, sorry, cruising around with my fogs on. On my 1987 Astra, I had those big old standalone fog lights bolted to the front grill - I thought they looked cool at the time.
Stoney871
It's the natural progression of yoof. From hanging around on corners gobbing off to sitting in chavved up rotboxes trying to impress girls. It's the human equivalent of a bird strutting around waving bright feathers.

Goodkat
I used to hang about with mates in car parks back in the day, when Max Power was at their peak, and everyone had looked as though they had crashed through Halfords 'Ripspeed' section. Most of the lads grew up and moved on from it, except one who took the modifying scene very seriously and has since built a one-off RX-7 which was pure automotive art, and now has an Esprit. Another built a Westfield from scratch and attends track days. As for me, well I am here with a Focus. Most of the 'cruises' bored the hell out of me, there were a few cars which were actually well done, but for every one that was actually any good there were 10 that were crap, and a few who were ragging the hell out of their dad's car. Stoney871
I see them in the local Sainsburys carpark all lined up at one side posing. They like that particular store as the exit feeds right onto the A38 that cuts through the middle of Plymouth so they can play 'who's got the noisiest tailpipe'. I like to park up my ST estate and test my blues & sirens at random times. ;)
Andy.B1971
Chelsea cruise used to be my pleasure over 20 odd years ago , some proper modified cars not a Halfords crash test dummy car. With police cooperation / participation it was a fantastic evening. and the crumpet..... NO DEAR I WASNT SAYING ANYTHING
Goodkat
Ah yes, the crumpet. Plenty of crumpet. However, in my experience they were never interested in the guy riding shotgun in his mate's 1992 1.4 base-spec escort. More's the pity. Didn't improve any when said mate upgraded to a 1997 Mondeo LX and I continued to ride shotgun, being too tight to bother getting a car. SeanW
Something I've never understood either!! My best mate tried to convince me it wasn't that bad...admittedly, there were a few well looked after cars - but the little chav'd up Corsa's/Saxo's/206's irritated the hell out of me - almost as much as the drivers...who definitely were trying to make up for something by being aggressive little sh...gits. Was only ever down Meggies seafront once with him (bumped into him after I'd been for Fish 'n' Chips) and 3 cars down a group of girls (I use the term loosely...almost as loose as their knickers) trying to break up a "fight" (2 gobshites standing off "Yeah mate, ah bang ya out innit!" "Nah mate - al 'ave ya!" doing that weird chest out, arms back whilst strutting in circles). Apparently, they were considered to be quite the catch? In their fake burberry jumpers, trackies and half of the Elizabeth Duke Argos counter draped around their necks and a Rolecks on the wrist, 'cos they is gangsta innit Wazzocks
Ianb
... when I was younger most of my friends used to hang out in their cars with ground up plants that would make Clives little Jed get very excited...They were far too lazy to do anything.. Friday nights was always about a good meal, early night ready for rugby on Saturday... then Sat night was all about celebrating a win by scuffling with the non-rugby locals... or drowning the sorrows of a loss..by doing the same thing... Far more productive
Marks12
this used to happen at a truck stop along the road my estate is attached too called mother hubbards, but thankfully hubbards put a stop too it and put up metal ballards with a chain linking each one it used to irritate me listening to there loud born exhausts racing up and down the roads before taking off to a town called mullingar, my fiance wanted me to go to one of the cruises but i always said no. the Traffic cops had this well scoped out once in mullingar they would barricade the enterance and exit of the car park they were now in so no one could get out whilst the cops checked there tax and insurance and searched for drugs. sparksy32
This has got so bad at multi story asda car park in gravesend that they have started putting barriers and bollards to stop them using it as their own personal version of the fast and furious Tokyo drift. It's only 1 storey but has 2 ramps and islands in the middle so it's basically a mini race track. Seems to have done the trick as they won't sit out in the open air part of the car park.
