Help Asap!! Door Adjustment

Featured Replies

Just replaced my door and it doesn't seem to push in properly?

May need the door striker on the body adjusting if it's clashing with the metal of the door instead of engaging with the latch mechanism?

Usually they're adjusted by slackening the 2 bolts then tapping it upwards or downwards with a soft mallet as required, the plate the bolts screw into is a tight fit in the pillar but should move. You could even remove the striker plate completely to see if the door will actually shut properly.

Also check the wiring plugs aren't fouling in some way, same with the door check-arm.

Worst case it may actually need the hinges tweeking upwards, usually done in the factory with a big metal bar! There is a 'subtle' art to setting doors to close correctly with the right gaps and closing efforts etc.
