Help! Steering Wheel Button Problems

Featured Replies

For the past week, my steering wheel buttons are giving me problems, The - volume button works but the + volume button changes the radio frequancy up, and sometimes the frequancy buttons changes the volume, so before I take it too Ford I would like to hear from you guys if there is a quick fix? can't think of anything I did wrong, one day it was working fine the next it wasn't

the internal switch on the control sounds to be at fault maybe broken and making the wrong circuits adjust

Well it should still be under warranty, Like I said, one moment it was working 100% the next all hey wire, amazing how quickly one becomes attached too useing them if you have them. now I have too force myself not to use the buttons

ok, Blue must have heard that I was taking him in too see the car doctor because yesterday when I started my car up everything was working as it should, we did have an abnormal hot day for this time of the year and I'm wondering if maybe a cleaning agent could have caused all of this and the weather dried up the liquid? well hopefully everything stays the same

Mine has been doing the same thing for a few weeks now, but it hasn't fixed itself. I am not too bothered as I should be getting my new car very soon.

Just had mine replaced under warranty,9 month old

After writting this my car started giving problems again on and off, and just the + volume button, today its ok....mmmmh

I'm guesing the minute I take Blue in for the checkup he will be 100%

Well I'll give it a day or two and see if the problem pops up again, I only have a year left on my warrenty plan and do not want to get stuck with a bill later on.

Is that the ford warranty? Aren't electrical items like a switch only covered for the first year?

Yes, it's a Ford Warranty, Almost all of Ford South Africa cars come with a 4 year/120 000km warranty plan and a 4 year/60 000km service plan, I think the only car that doesn't come with the service plan is the Ford Figo (basically old look fiesta)

It's also possible to extend for another 2 years, if you extend before the old one runs out, stuff that aren't

covered are basically things like tires etc. normal wear and tear.

Well under closer inspection I think you might be right, electrical component aren't covered, but steering wheel component are covered, just wonder under what this falls?
