Keyless Start And Steering Locks

Featured Replies

Just thinking aloud, really.

With the usual key start which I've always had, I'm fairly confident that the lock won't suddenly activate (maybe I shouldn't be confident). With keyless start, how is it possible to be failsafe? If some leccy gubbins de-activates it, surely a glitch in the gubbins could activate it? Like when I'm hammering it down the motorway and suddenly can't turn the wheel :)

Any thoughts? Or maybe there are no survivors ;)

If your that worried about it, sell the car and get something without it.

There are plenty of cars with this system and I don't recall seeing any reported faults of the type you are worried about.

Get in touch with ford customer services, who may be able to get a technical person to explain the system to you and put your mind at ease.

There has to be a failsafe on it else we would have heard of accidents
