Barryh1988
Hi all, sorry if these questions have been asked before but I'm new to posting in forums but I'm extremely excited to have my new st-3 on order in frozen white that I recieve in a few weeks *first spanking new car I've ever owned* Question 1 - Well I'm sure we're all wanting to go for the mountune 215 pack but my question is how many miles have you put on your car before going for the upgrade as I guess the engines need breaking in first *never had a new car so never experienced breaking in a car* Question 2 - who's running their St on standard or high octane fuel? Thanks guys and I appreciate any feedback, Barry
Nathan54771
First question I can't answer as I've only covered 400 atm and I'm gonna wait till around 1500-2000 atleast until I mountune mine. Question 2 im running on high octane but it's Abit of a placebo effect really, no noticeable difference just like to think the car enjoys the pre ignition ;) Hahaa all down to personal preference to be honest

MarksST
My last ST had 4500 before I had the MP215 fitted, my new ST had it fitted at 230miles. It doesn't matter when you have it fitted, you could have it done before collection. If you do wait a while you will be able to feel the difference over standard. I always fill up with Shell v power, the additives might benefit the engine, mpg may be slightly better (who knows). Power wise probably no differnt although my old ST did make 217bhp/263ftlbssomitbmay have helped. Breaking in, just follow the manual, use all the revs but don't labour the engine and vary the speed,
Barryh1988
Cheers guys I think I'll wait a few thousand miles before the upgrade, my sale's guy has persuaded me to go for the 215 pack and a short shifter. And I usally use Shell fuel but my past 4 cars have all been dirty diesels.
Clarky2013
Shell v power nitro + for every tank, make sure it's warm and boot it. Then in a few months when your used to the speed and it doesn't seem as quick get the mp215 to liven it up again.
Philf1
I use v power mainly for the additives don't think it makes much if any difference otherwise. As for Mountune I haven't got it and to be honest I'm not convinced it's worth the £600 but it's personal choice really. My son is getting a white ST3 as well he picks it up later this week and he's thinking of getting it so will have a back to back drive and see what it feels like. Phil 87
As above really. The only reason to hold off on the upgrade is so you can tell the difference when you get it. I'd say get it at about 1000 miles and have an oil change around that time too. If all you're after is extra power it's not worth the money, but if you factor in the warranty and the way the engine sound changes it's worth it. I've only ever put Shell V-Power in mine and it probably makes little or no difference, although some people think it gives a little more power especially with a turbo. Barryh1988
So guess I'll run on Shell v power and wait 6 months for the map give me a chance to get used to the car (and give my bank balance a break) Love the sound of the St as it is didn't think how nice it would sound after the 215 pack. Shame I can't test/hear one first
