1.8 Tddi Oil Pressure Problem

Our old but well serviced (oil and filter every 6k) focus 1.8 tddi has a problem.

It is fine when it is cold but when it warms up the oil pressure light flickers when it is idling. I have tired

1) New oil and filter

2) Dropped the sump off and checked the pick up which was completely clean anyway.

3) swapped the oil pressure switch

If you blip the accelerator the light instantly goes out.

I am guessing the pump has worn out but any other suggestions? Also how deep in the engine is this pump? Is it a simple one or a strip down.

It has done 150k miles but for a well maintained diesel it should do more.
