Fiesta Mk4 Cigarette Lighter

Featured Replies

Hi all,

First post here and I'm looking for some help if possible.

I have a 98 MK4 fiesta and I am trying to use the cigarette lighter socket as a charger for my iPhone. I have tried 2 separate chargers but neither of them have worked, With both chargers being very loose in the socket. Originally I thought this was an issue with the charger but the 2nd one I bought also had the issue. This weekend I have had the chance to test this on another car, Scoda Fabia, and both the Chargers have worked due to the socket seeming to be smaller which means there has been a tighter fit and I assume a better connection between the charger and the socket.

Can anyone suggest a fix?

Has anyone changed the cigarette lighter for a different type/model, as I think a tighter connection would enable this to work.

( the Chargers tried are :

Belkin Dual Port Car lightning Charger

&

Anker 24W Dual-Port Rapid USB Car Charger)

I know the cigarette lighter socket works as other old chargers work, so it is not a faulty socket or issue with the fuse.

Thanks
