Where is the oil from?

I picked up my new car yesterday. A focus 1.8 Diesel Zetec Estate 2003.

On my way to work I had an oil of some sort dripping onto my clutch foot.

Can anyone tell me what it is likely to be?

Is it the clutch or the steering or something else?

Thanks

Is it oil?

How bad a drip is it?

It could just be lube - maybe there was a squeek from the pedal pivot or them oiling the cable

If it's a constant drip and you bought it from a dealer - then take it back get them to sort it.

Thanks for that.

It felt like some sort of Lube. It seemed like a reasonable amount. I wiped it up now and will see if it happens on the way home.

Hi, up above your foot pedal, there are 2 valves, one of these valves will be leaking, cant remember if it brake or clutch fluid, we had to buy a new part and it cost us about £60. get it done quickly, as the fluid will get into your carpets.
