Mk7 St Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hoping someone can help me here..

Both myself and parents have 64 plate ST-3's (lucky us :P ) lol mine came from the factory with the optional rear sensors, however parents did not.. They then contacted the dealer and requested these to be fitted after delivery of the car which was agreed to.

My question is regarding the park pilot system, as far as I'm aware although I have the park pilot system that shows proximity of objects behind the car. their car does not! They have requested a call back from the dealers (not happy) as my mum feels incapable of parking without the system, is there any way of turning on through system menu?

Haven't been able to find anything as yet!

The dealer will just fit x-vision sensors. The factory ones maybe possible to fit but may not have the correct wiring in the car so could work out more expensive.

I've had both types on my STs, to be honest don't really take much notice of the park pilot screen unless I want to get really close to a wall, another car etc.

The x-vision sensors look better as they fit flush so are hardly noticeable, there is an optional display for them but, it doesn't look too good.

Both systems work as well as each other.

Bottom line, no, x visions (or other aftermarket) on the fiesta are not compatabile with park pilot.

However on the focus it is compatible

I looked into this a lot and many phonecalls with ford later this is what I've been told.

Without being rude :P should tell your parents to look in their mirrors when reversing not ahead at a screen! :)

You could swap cars :p
