Panoramic Roof Blind Roller Not Engaged

I've got a 2010 S-Max Titanium X with panoramic roof. The roof blind stopped working when it got it self caught up. The motor is still working and will close the blind and open it but the roller the fabric rolls onto / off from is not moving with the blind. I can put my fingers between the blind and roll up the fabric by hand, it spins freely.

Its as if something has disengaged the roller from the open/close mechanism.

Anyone got any ideas if this is fixable or whether its a full replacement?

Exactly the same thing has happened to mine and Ford are quoting. £1000 to replace it...

I am buying a S-Max that has rthe same problem.

The blind is stuck in the closed position.

When you press the button you can hear the motor engaging but nothing happens.

Have you had any luck in getting someone t look at it/repair it ?

I don't fancy paying ford £1000 to replace the whole blind assembly (the new blind alone costs £600 !)

You have 2 options, and they are rather poor!

1 don't buy the car

2 negotiate £1000 off the price, then go get it replaced by Ford.

I said they weren't any good!

Does anyone know how can be fixed?? It is working but didn't close properly the last part of curtain.

It can't. Mine was like that and then it all raveled up and pulled itself away for the sides making it sag. Went to ford's they now want over 2k to replace. Luckily I got a crack on my pan roof, so got it replaced on ins. As apparantly they have to fix the blind to the pan roof? So cheap fix (50 excess) at expense to no claims tho. Bitter sweet outcome.

I tried everywhere to get mine fixed, re upholsters, sunroof specialists etc. Noone would entertain it.
