Rear Rattle Type Squeaking!

Featured Replies

So I got a 1.0 Ecoboost zetec, 2014 with 6k on the clock about 2 weeks ago. Enjoying the car so far but after about 3-4 days I noticed a squeaking/rattling type noise coming from the rear of the car.

It seems to be more apparent now and it`s starting to really drive me mad.

This morning I tried taking out the foam thing from the boot which holds all the bits for the tyre repair, also removed the shelf and put the seats down AND ITS STILL !Removed! DOING IT!!!

As far as I can tell its coming from the far rear of the vehicle.

Any Idea`s?

Does it sound Like a kind of ticking? Or a pufpufpufpufpuf with a kind of tick involved

It sounds more like ticking i`d say, almost like a squeaking type noise. It seems to be mainly when accelerating whist driving in a low gear at a low speed (fuel saving :) ) or when going over rattly roads.

Check your rear drop links. My focus had a similar issue and I replaced the drop links and it's fine now

Think they all do that, seems to produce different rattles depending on how cold / hot it is, they rattle themselves out after a while. Ford will sort it out FOC if it's within a year old.
