Fiesta Ecoboost Miss Firing With Remap

Featured Replies

So I've had my 1.0l ecoboost for about a year and a half and about 6months ago I had it mapped to 140bhp!! Today I went on a dyno day and discover that my fiesta was miss firing but it was always miss firing at like 3000 to 4000rpm. It was always at the same point! I don't know if it's to do with the remap or just a mechanical failure but if anyone know what's this means please let me know!! Thanks

Being an old _art I dunno why you guys _iss about with 'em. If you want more bhp why not just buy it at the start? I'm collecting my 125 Tit next Saturday and it'll stay exactly as stock, but as I say, i'm an old _art. Even then it'll have more bhp than my XR2 did, also, it's unusable in todays traffic. Gone are the days when I spent rubber at traffic lights, pointless. And low profiles? If I ran over a farthing and wanted to know if it was heads or tails........

Most people won't know what a farthing is lol , but as a fellow old f#rt I totally agree traffic today is horrendous you barely get above 20mph so more power is mostly wasted , but I guess thats why people modify their cars to be a bit different from everyone else

You won't get any answers on here mate, all just give you lectures of life 🙈 it's gonna be either the map needs tweaking due to it being consistent at that Rev range and same point everytime on the dyno. Says there's something messed up on your ecu to me, otherwise it's gotta be your coil pack on that cylinder not firing or a wiring/supply fault or a fuel supply fault on that cylinder.

If collins confirm its not the map on Saturday il be intrigued to see what ford confirm it is.

Plus collins never dynoed the 1.0l when they remapped it, so with it being a very first map there could be little side bugs like this ? Might just need a tweak.

*edit* they did, they dynoed "bigmunkynuts" red one ?

Hmm just have to see what they think on Saturday, otherwise ford will have to check the fuel injector/Coil pack and cylinder.

If it was a fault with the re map would it take 6 months to show up a fault? More likely its some other fault

The fault could of been there for the 6 months, he doesn't know. Was only realised yesterday on the graph of the dyno run. It's not a noticeable day to day misfire every revolution. Only does it at say 3000rpm once then goes normal.
