Help!

Featured Replies

Hi I'm new to this and was hoping you guys could help me with a problem on our fiesta. It's a 2004 1.4 petrol. I tried starting it earlier and when I turned the key nothing happened. All the instrument lights came on and I could hear the relay click in the glove box when I turned the key but the starter motor didn't do a thing. The battery seems ok, I don't really know what else to look for. Any help you guys could give me would be brilliant.

Thanks, Dan.

How do you know the battery seems ok ??? When you turn the key and get the clicking, do the dash lights go dim ??? If so, its pointing to the battery.

& if it is the battery, get the alternator checked out first before you replace it.

The only click I get is from the relay in the glove box. The starter doesn't do anything. The car wouldn't jump start or bump start and if it was starter or alternator it would of done wouldn't it??

Thanks, Dan.

Check the battery connections to ensure they have not become loose before anything else.

If its not the battery then it sounds a bit enforced like an immobilisation, is the car and padlock on the dash staying lit up?

Also if the battery has totally failed it wouldn't jump start.
