reverse gear

Hi all i have a fiesta 1.3 on a 51 reg petrol engine by the way its the endura engine sometimes it does go into reverse gear staright away sometimes it goes staright but when it dont ive got lift my foot of the clutch depress it again and it goes into reverse gear what can this be. cheers alan.

I learned to drive in a Mk.6 Fiesta like yours and I remember having to lift off the clutch and depress it again to get it in reverse. Was told it was normal. It's most probably a safety feature.

Don't have to do that on my Focus, mind you I have a "Lift up" reverse.

o right ok thanks for that i can live with it but sometimes it can anoy me when you want to do a quick 3 point turn lol.

You know the answer................a handbrake turn!!!!! :lol:

Common issue as there is no sychro on reverse gear. I find slotting first before reverse helps.

3 second rule lol - mine scrunches and crunches and jumps out of gear regular - unless I sit and do the rule which apparently is in the handbook!!!!!
