Engine Ticking

Featured Replies

my late fathers fiesta 52 plate 1.6 ghia model when cold sounds fine but once warm making a horrible ticking noise not sure what will be causing it ?

and another issue is the water level theres no leaks from anywhere nor is there and smoke from exhaust and no water in oil and no oil in water seems to drink it but no sign of where

No oil in water or vice versa then it's leaking, or not sealed, how tight does the reservoir cap go? I'd check all the seams and joins of the rad too, common place to corrode and leak.

Tapping is most likely just a valve issue, get some nice mineral oil, do an oil change run it through get it nice and hot and drop it all out and fill it up again with semi synthetic as usual, should give it a good flush and sort the tapping, assuming it coming from the cam / rocker cover area?
