Ford Dealer Servicing.

Featured Replies

Any way to find a good Ford dealer for servicing?
Are the muckanics sent on a "fix-it" course?
Is teeth sucking obligatory or are there non-teeth sucking dealerships?
Scenario - ECU says its the whelping wheel, they change it, £500 still have problem. It is now a fault with the !Removed! pump, £500, still same problem.
etc etc etc. Megabucks and still have problem.
What do you guys do in this situation? Its been 30 years since I had a new car :)

More importantly, can you get/argue your £1000 back?

LOL, I can't believe it removed that :D

You can have the car serviced by any garage you like (ford or other), as long as they use genuine ford parts it will keep the warranty. So use a garage that you know and are happy using.

The warranty is 3 years unless you have opted for the extended warranty, how long do you plan on keeping the car? As long as it's not down to wear and tear or misuse then it should be covered. Providing you have followed the servicing plan and not modified the car.

Finding a garage you trust is the key, I've used my local ford dealer for nearly 12 years, I'm happy with the service provided and have never felt I was being overcharged or that they didn't know what they were doing.

Cheers Mark, I've had 2 cars in the last 30 years so I'll prolly keep it a while :)

"So use a garage that you know and are happy using."

That's the prob, I use a backstreet muckanic who wouldn't have a clue with this car but was fine for MOTs and oil/filter changes etc.

I'll prolly opt for extended warranty also.

Incidentally, the tyres were high on pressure, about 36 all round, ride is better now.
