2014 Zetec S Ecoboost - Headlights

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone could advise on some dipped headlight bulbs that I could take a look at, as I want to change the ones i currently have to a pure white light (once I've got my car back)

I have already changed the sidelights and rear plate lights to white LED's as well as the fog lights, but was wandering if anyone had any advice on which ones look the best out of their experience

Links to the bulbs would be awesome to make it easier for me to view ;)

Thanks in advance!

Oh and wind deflectors ;)

Without going for HIDs the best option is Philips CrystalVision, although they aren't road legal. But I got them anyway :P

alright mate thanks, as far as Phillips goes what's the best road legal option as far as white light is concerned

I think the road legal bulbs with the whitest light are Philips WhiteVision and Osram Cool Blue Intense. I'm not sure which is better but I had the Osrams and they were a decent upgrade over standard, but still a bit yellowish in light. That's why I went for the CrystalVisions.

I haven't bought any myself but there are a few threads on here about them.

Osram night breakers are meant to be good. Think there the ones I'm going to get.

If I bought new bulbs for my car and got them fitted at halfords would that void the warranty or not?

The warranty doesn't really work like that as far as I know. For example if you change the bulbs and later on your engine develops a fault, the engine can still be fixed under warranty because the bulbs have nothing to do with it.

If you change the bulbs and something breaks with the headlight or whatever just change the bulb back to standard and take it to Ford. Job done

Bulb wont effect warranty anyway, all of them are E marked, legality of road use aside, if they are E marked or BS marked there is nothing Fraud can say.

I use Phllips Xtreme Vision, they are legal and white'ish, but they match the fogs and DRLs which is what I was after, think cars look silly when they don't match colour wise.

Are these anygood..........osram H7 night breaker plus low xenon headlight bulb......£16.92

And is it best from ebay because they might smash in the post.

Could you post a link just so we can check? The Night Breakers are great but I haven't seens them described as Xenon before. It could just be a mistake in the description. You could just get them from Amazon instead, a bit cheaper and also you know who you're buying from:

I was just reading a few threads and was thinking a whiter beam on mine would be good.

Also are they road legal and will fit mine.

Yes they are road legal and will fit (H7 is a standard bulb size so any H7 bulb will fit). Those look a bit dodgy though, strange description and photoshopped picture. I'd go with something that's clearly genuine like the Amazon link above.

The Nightbreakers are only slightly whiter than standard. They are designed to give a much brighter light but are still a bit yellow in colour.

Alright people I have a just installed the osram cool blue intense bulbs to my car but it seems that the light on the passenger side of the car is a lot brighter and goes further than the light on the drivers side is this normal or have I done anything wrong.

that's good to know, I want something that's as white as I can get without getting a HID conversion, that's too much messing about for my liking

They cost me all in all £19 off Amazon and took 5 mins to fit dead simple well worth the money

CrystalVisions are whiter but not road legal unlike the Cool Blues. But then HIDs aren't road legal either.

Does the whole headlight have to come out to change the bulbs like on previous models or is it easily accessible on the MK7.5?
