Fiesta Needs An Engine

Featured Replies

Hi folks. Our fiesta mk6 needs an engine. It is a 53 reg and absolutely no rust hence why we are considering fitting another engine. My big question is what can we drop into it in the way of a bigger engine without much problems? It is a 1.4 zetec. Thinking a focus or mondeo 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0. I have someone who would have a go at shoehorning a v6 out of a mondeo ST 220 into it. That would be wicked! If we just drop in a breaker 1.4 then the car will be sold on. To be honest it will probably get sold as is or broken rather than that. The preferred option is a focus engine in to it. Is this possible with out much problems? I know of a complete focus 1.8 I can get for a donor for very little money, it's body is dead but mechanics are good.

Thanks in advance

Davie

What about the 1.6 engine they put into the mk6 Fiesta of that age?

It's not just a case of dropping the engine in, you will need all the ancillaries to go with it, wiring, ecu etc.

Then there is the insurance aspect to consider

Could always sell me it cheap as it is :o

Don't forget the driveshaft's, ones from a Mondeo and Focus will be longer and may require customs which cost more than the car is worth ( some £800+ a pop )
