Fiesta Zs 7.5 Turbo Stamp Query

Featured Replies

120 GB code here also.

Sound like your engine has a hard drive instead of a turbo lol.

Spoke to the ford technical team by phone and visited my local ford garage today and they didn't have much new to tell me which hasn't been discussed here. I guess that means a well done and a thanks are in order for all the knowledge that is shown on this forum!

Basically the HB and GB codes previously discussed are the part numbers for the turbo assembly only and this code difference most probably defines manufacturing location of that part (so a well done to those that suggested that) fairly confident in saying that as both parts cost the same and have the same ford eurocodes (whatever they are). Having also entered my chassis number in the ford system is looks like my car was built in Malta which is news to me but at least helps explain the difference in the turbo assembly part codes. In terms of the 100 and 120 stamps on the turbo assembly the technical staff and services mechanic didn't have much confidence why there is that number other than they didn't think it related to the cars power or indicate that the turbos are different. The mechanic also stated the 100 and 125PS engines and turbos should be identical anyway.

So as far as i know it looks like there isn't any real concern. Thanks for all the help on this.

There is no Ford assembly plant in Malta.

Are you sure the VIN indicates it was built in Malta rather than destined for the Maltese market?.

As far as I know all European market fiestas with the I3 engine are assembled in Cologne.

I have no idea it was the ford technical team that said it briefly over the phone after I told him the VIN.

FInally got round to checking these links out and looks like the staff i spoke to meant to say the place of manufacture was Cologne not Malta. However the initial location for its sale was to be "MT" which may mean Malta as suggested by NH10GEL. Interesting how it ended up in Glasgow before I bought it haha.

Does look as if it was built for the Maltese market.

Has it got everything you would expect a UK model to have? For example does it have a heated windscreen?

Some dealers are known (I think Motorpoint is one?) for selling grey imports. Certainly sounds like yours in a Malta one and not UK spec.

Yeah it's got a heated windscreen, heater in it is brilliant actually, fastest heat up in the winter months of any car I've ever had by a big margin. Can't imagine there is much difference between this car and standard uk spec cars.

The turbo's from the 100ps and 125ps are the same. It doesn't make financial sense for ford to make a turbo specific for the 100PS when they can just bolt on the 125 ps and use a different engine calibration.

If you look up the reg on Ford etis what does it say for the registration country?

ive got a mk7.5 zs and my turbo stamp is 100 as well, just for reference :)

"MT" is the "territory" that the Ford etis states.
