55 Fiesta Mk6 1.25 Stalling

Featured Replies

Our 26000 Mile 55 plate fiesta 1.25 every now and then stalls whilst idling/coasting for no apparent reason.

Its got Full Ford S/H and we are its second owner, the last owner being an elederly lady who used it only occasionally, hence the low mileage.

Its had new plugs, new cam belt kit,new water pump and performs well, there are no diagnostic codes according to my humble FCR. We have run a tank of V-Power through it, and a dose of Cataclean. We did the Cataclean a few tanks full before the V -Power, and It seemed to make a slight difference in perforamnce combined with a good thrash down the motorway, as im guessing the car has never had one ;)

So all seems in good order except the occasional stall at traffic lights/junctions ect ect when it drops down to idle, its not all the time just occasionally say two or three times a week.

Anyone else had any experience of this, or even better know of what the problem may be.

Are the plugs gapped correctly? Battery? Anything like that? How are the plug leads? Fuel filter?

New plugs, hadnt though of the leads TBH, Personally id expect a misfire before cutting out if it was the leads, but im no expert, Ill check them out. Fuel filter is a good point however THANKS!!
