  • You basically only need the following parts: * 5 Inch display (FCDIM) with SD slot. The prefix of the part number must be the same as the currently installed display. * SD-card with maps.

  • If your car has the correct Sat Nav compatible Radio unit you need the following parts: * 5 Inch FCDIM module (display) with the correct part number. * SD-card with maps. * GPS antenna with Fakr

So i have a 2014 st3 with sync 1 what part number screen and Sony unit would I need? Once I get these bits would it just be a case of fitting and adding the wires for it all to work?

How did you manage to do it iantt?

Bought 2nd hand autolight switch, new rain sensor, new wiring harness from bcm to rain sensor, and then configured it in central car config, it also does auto wipers at same time.

Ive also done the cruise control as well

So the rain sensor does the headlights aswell?

Yep

How much is it for the sensor and the wiring?

Cant remember, will check tommorow how much I paid

Ok cheers. Is it hard to do? My old mk2.5 had lights and wipers as standsrd but my focus mk3 has got some black box usually where the sensor sits at the top of the windscreen but not sure what it is.

The black box is the gps for emergency assistance, is there a circular blacked out section in the windsreen below the black box on yours?

Yes just looked and its as you described a circular cut out which is blacked out. Just looked on ebay and the rain sensors dont look much different from the gps box on top of screen.

Theres 2 differnt shape rain sensors, what you will need is the circlular sensor , not the square one, no one on ebay list them even s/hand. If you remove the covers around the interior mirror you will see the apature the sensor sits in,

worst bit of doing job was scraping the black paint that on the windscreen where the sensor should be, you will see what im saying about that.

Im just looking on microcat now and i cant find a sensor to fit in that bracket. Only thing i can find with rain sensor is rear view mirror.

Got the box it came in in the garage somewhere, will look now, what model and year u got?

Part no 1778736, engineering no bv6t 17d547 ad

Ive got a 63 reg zetec. I can find a silicone pad with auto screen wiper on microcat part number bv6t 17h761-aa finis 1720926.

Yes ive found the part youve given me now on quick part locator. Does the wiring harness plug in by the alarm sensor up that way?

Maybe yours is different, mine is for 13plate zetec june13 so nearly 63.

sensor comes with silicone pad , extra needed is the metal clip that holds it in place, where did you get microcat from, that could be usefull sometimes.

I bought mine of ebay only cost me a few quid. Ive now found the sensor and silicone pad and also a retainer clip. Its just the wiring id be a bit unsure off.

Nope, the wiring needs to come from the bcm/fusebox, used the wiring harness for a titanium simular age, and just used the 3 wires for the sensor and refitted the single wires into the excisting correct bcm connector.

if you decide to go ahead and do it , can do a fitting guide if you want

Funny thing is i had a full wiring loom of a titanium x the other week and threw it away after i took the wires off for the sat nav :(

The wiring harness , dont have the part number handy at home but can find that out tommorow

Ha ha, unlucky.

The auto light switch was expensive from ford so that had to be ebay for £25

Yes that would be great if you could im very grateful for your help. Like i said in my earlier posts i want the better control panel with bigger screen then cruise control then auto lights. I should have just put the extra money towards a titanium :)
