Brake Lights Stay On After I Press Brake Pedal

Featured Replies

After I press the brake pedal the brake lights stay on for about 10 seconds or so and sometimes I have to press the brakes a few times to get them to turn off. Anybody have any information on how to fix this problem. My fiesta is a 97 model.

Sounds like the switch (on the pedal) is either sticking or wearing out, replace the switch & hopefully that should fix it.

I'm guessing the switch is behind the pedal? and would it be hard to replace? Thanks

Yes the switch is behind the brake pedal, I don't know if it is a hard job as I have never done one (I leave jobs like that to a mechanic).
