Focus Tdci 1.8 2002 Starting Problems

Hi I have a 1.8tdci and sometimes I just won't start and I have to bump it because eventually the battery goes flat,onces started it's fine for days them does it again,I have tryed to jump start it it turns over but doesn't start any help would be welcome thanks jay

There's a couple of things it could be. Glow plugs, fuelling, fuel pump. Although if you can bump start it, I'm inclined to think it's the glow plugs.

I changed 3 of the glow plugs need to change the last 1 as I ran out of time but it also does it when it's warm after a long run thanks

Ok, so that's a bit harder to diagnose. Are there any other problems? Is it using a lot of diesel or oil? Is it low on power when driving along? Does everything sound normal when it's turning over but not starting?

No everything is fine and it runs really nice starts/stop then out of the blue it does it again.i have read about people having trouble with anti shudder vavle and there symptoms sound the same as mine

That could be it. I have no idea what that is, so I can't help. I'd research it a bit more if I were you.
