I just washed my car and noticed a lot of small black spots along the sides of it, mostly concentrated around the wheels.

I figure it's because the car has no mudflaps, but they don't make any for the ZS AFAIK.

Anyway the sides feel very coarse, almost like sandpaper, and there's hundreds of tiny small spots on it.

It looks a bit like the stuff used to undercoat the car (to protect it against rust, cars rust extremely fast in Denmark because we use a lot of salt on the roads during winter)

I've attached a picture of it (don't mind the reflection of me :D)

So here's the question: How do I get rid of it ? My normal soap and sponge (it has a soft and a coarse side, I've tried both) doesn't do anything towards it.

Tar remover will do it.

Those will probably be the dreaded tar spots.... apparently you can use White Spirit to remove them.

Alternatively Autoglym make an "Intensive Tar Spot Remover" product (which is probably just White Spirit in a fancy bottle costing £6)

I'd also recommend swapping your sponge for a wash mitt too :)

Dodo juice do a decent tar remover, works brilliantly tbh

Any one will be better than a sponge really. A sponge will collect dirt on the surface and could end up scratching your paint. I grabbed a meguiars one from halfords

i use one from asda as its micro fiber and saw it on a few detailing websites saying its good and when its done buy a new one there only like £3.50 lol

Id use WD40, spray it on and leave for a few mins then wash off, works a treat!
