2007 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Tdci Decat ?

Featured Replies

Hi guys ! First of Happy New Year ! Secondly I need some advice, does a Fiesta 1.6 tdci have an catelyser ? And wil it be to my benifit to remove it ?

Yes it does.. Its called a Diesel Particulate Filter or DPF for short... Otherwise known as a pain in the butt ...

You can have them removed but it will also mean the ECU will need remapping to suit. Also they make a change so you wont get a warning light on the instrument panel ..

Strictly speaking the above should not be done and would mean an MOT fail. But these guys that do a proper job split the canister remove the filters and re weld the canister back up so its undetectable. In other words they wont know.

My wee van is the 1.6 TDCI and if ever I get the DPF fail I will simply have the above works done. Till then I will just leave it alone. Removal and mapping is less than a third of the cost of a new DPF ..

Have a look below th3 turbo you will see a cylinder,

If the cylinder has pipes coming out of it then yes you have a dpf,

If the cylinder doesn't have pipes coming out of it then its just a catylist

Pumaspeed sell an off the shelf decat pipe which will enhance performance

I recommend blanking the EGR valve aswell as fitting a green cotton induction filter.

Remap will also help,

See guides:

Blanking egr valve 1.6TDCi:

Pumaspeed decat pipe:

Guides are done on focus with same 1.6TDCi engine,

Induction filter will be different however the 10% Discount code will still be valid.
