Rattling Noise On Fiesta 1.4 Tdci. Help Please

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a fiesta 1.4 tdci 03. The cam belt and clutch have been changed recently by the previous owner. I have got a rattling noise coming from the left hand side of the engine (as if you are looking at the engine). It has got worse recently. It is intermittent but does it very frequently of that makes sense. Do you know what this could be? The previous owner did say that they hit a couple of potholes and it seemed to have started from then. Don't know if this could be relevant. Any help would be much appreciated

Hi there. I own a 1.6 tdci fiesta 2007. Had a rattling noise as well. So I took it to the garage for its service and told them about it. They had a look and the problem was, the pulley that drives your fan belt, so in other words the camshaft pulley. Between that pulley and the mother theres a rubber spacer to prevent vibration to you air-con pump ect. So long story short, need to replace that hole pulley and shaft. Cost me R7500 ZAR. ( I live in South Africa ) have a look at that!

Hi. I've fixed it now. The timing belt was done last year and the idiot who did it had put bolts into the fuel pump that were too short, causing the pump to come away from the car and the belt slipping a tooth. It could have been catastrophic but managed to catch it just in time. Cost me £35 for a new belt and just two longer bolts. Thank you for all your help guys
