Replaced Parking And Numberplate Lights With Led's

As the Topic stated I finally found a place in a town nearby were I could purchase some LED's for the number plate and front parking lights, they only had the 5 led types which are perfect for the interior or number plates, but personally I would prefer some brighter led's for the front parking lights.

I will try and get some brighter once and just use the smaller once for the interior.

I did find a big flaw with the standard lights that are in the number plate holders, the globes got so hot against the plastic that it started turning black as can be seen from the pics, the reason for this is that the plastic fitting is right up against the bulb, definitely something to look out for.

Standard bulb against the fitting, notice the burned plastic around the edge

Fitting with bulb removed

Replaced with Led, big change with the white light

Fitted Led's to parking lights as well, matches the HID lights perfectly, I will however change to a 10 or 12 Led type. They do look alot brighter at night time.

Looks good, I tried similar LEDs for my number plates, but then changed them to the blue tinted halogen W5W bulbs that came with the Philips Crystalvision H7s, which I prefer because of the more even light spread. They're not quite as white as LEDs but they match the DRLs better.

I also had to buy a new bulb holder for the number plate ones, because I damaged the metal clip trying to get it out lol.

mmmh I might just try that, my next mod will have to be the head lights, just so they not as yellow against the nice hid's.

which type of bulbs do you guys recommend for the head lights, taking into account I have Hid's and just want the same white colour, of course any extra brightness won't hurt as well. each time I switch the brights on the nice white lights go all yellow because of the standard headlights, so I tend too use the headlights less.

Do you know if the BlueVision W5W is the same as the ones that come with CrystalVisions or other H7 bulbs? I think the picture of the BlueVisions online looked like they are only slightly blue tinted. If they are the same I might try them inside the car too.

I've ordered one each of Philips BlueVision and Osram Cool Blue W5Ws so I can compare.

The main thing is I want them to match this festoon I got for the courtesy light which I'm really happy with: http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/mtec-264-festoon-12v-44mm-super-white-xenon-effect-bulbs-2-bulbs/
