St Is Ready For The Snow

Featured Replies

So I posted on here a while ago asking peoples opinion on what colour I should paint my winter wheels. In the end I went with white and I thought I would show how they came out. I've also put on some mud flaps on to try and protect the rocker panels and cut down on the snow build up on the doors. Finally I've applied some fog light protector film to help them survive the grit etc.

It's snowed a fair bit where I live and there have been a few days with an inch of snow covering the roads. I have been impressed with the winter tires performance in these conditions but also all round compared to stock. At the end of the day though they are summer tires so I can't complain. I was also pleasantly surprised that I didn't notice a noise difference from having the chunky tires on.

They look good, I do like white wheels. What size are the alloys?

Liking the Rally stylee look.

Looks good, I was thinking about doing something similar but maybe next year. I've only had snow once so far this winter, and the roads were 99% clear anyway.

Thanks guys, they are actually almost exactly the same size as the stock wheels 215/45/R17, 4x108 and with an offset of 47.5. I was trying to get a rally look that wasn't to in your face and for the few days that it was snowy I was sure glad that I had prepared.

Tell us more about the mud flaps CREED :)

Where'd you get them from and cost?

Ah the mud flaps are Rally Armor Universal BASIC w/ Red logo. I got them direct from the supplier, link below, and I think a full set plus shipping was around £15. Given that they are universal they have literally no mounting hardware so I had to drill a few holes in them and the car before screw.ing them in place. I also had to make a bracket for the front ones as there really isn't much solid to mount to in the front wheel arches.

One thing I did notice is that they are really wide, see pic, not an issue if your wheels are too though.
