Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a fiesta zetec s in the next few weeks. I would like some advice please. I'm looking at the possibility of 3 different engines. The 1.0 Ecoboost, the 1.6 petrol and the 1.6 diesel. Any ideas which is the better car. I've read very mixed reviews on the diesel but good reviews for both petrol engines, so it would probably be one of them! Thanks in advance.

I'd go for the ecoboost over the diesel, more power, probably better on fuel and more potential if you want more power.

Can you get a 1.6 in the current shape fiesta?

The 1.6 I was looking at at 2009 plate?

So are you looking at a pre 2012 ZS in either petrol or diesel and a post 2012 ZS in petrol or diesel?

I and probably most on here would say a post 2012 ZS ecoboost.

If you can afford it go for the ecoboost.

Clanky diesels in a sports hatch is just wrong, petrol all the way for me.

If the budget allows, go for the MK7.5 Ecoboost.

Go for the 1.6 petrol Metal model more bhp than the Zetec s, also better spec in the car!

We have 3 ecoboost and 1 metal.

The metal is better specc'd but feels very heavy and clumsy compared to the Ecoboost cars.

I was so impressed with my 120bhp ZSE that I upgraded to a 140bhp Black Edition.

There's quite a quality gulf between the metal and the later ZSE....with the ZSE being better but somehow, feel more solidly put together and much more nimble!

Get the eco boost, one thing i hate about my car is no turbo.... also limits the modding capability as things like remaps, pipe upgrades really make a difference on turbo'd cars. Our work fiesta 1.4td sometimes feels better to drive than my 1.6zs thats how lacking it is
