Ford Fiesta Finesse 2000

I'm about to have my brother in-laws car off him for free, but there is a few problems.

1. Car revs and hisses at full steering lock.

2. When slowing down to a stop the car revs like mad, I found to stop it revving is to have the clutch on the biting point.

3. Sometimes the car loses power like yesterday was joining the motorway at 60 in 5th gear foot on the floor and it had taken at least 15 seconds just to get to 70.

Any help and advice on these problems would be great.

Also I'm looking at fitting an android powered stereo into the car with the torque pro app.

Is it possible to use the mini ELM327 Obd adapter in this car for stuff like rev counter?

What size engine has it got?

Right car hisses and revs at full steering lock because your actually turning it further than it should they all do it because it's needing additional power to keep it st that

Revving like mad what rev is it at 1k ? More or less?

5th gear is a cruising gear not a acceleration gear so keeping it at 5th you won't go no where except burning petrol and putting strain on the engine your ment to be in third to accelerate joining a motorway seems nothing is wrong with car it's not loosing power it's in the wrong gear! lol

It has accelerated in 5th before its just on a few occasions it loses power. I cant give an amount of revs as there is no rev counter in this car.

Ahhh but still your not ment to accelerate in 5th it's a cruising gear can actually damage gears trying to accelerate in 5th

3rd is for acceleration bud

Ahh well a can't help on the revs but I know these engines can be loud but that's all I can say till I hear it lol

I have android torque pro actually I started a thread on it here http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/65669-android-torque-bluetooth-obd2-app-updated-with-my-vids/

So you could see everything about ur car including revs if you read about that thread you will see my vids and my obd2 adapter I got

I will have to try get a video of it revving when I do use the car again. The way to completely stop it is to just pull over and restart the engine. Its not good having dirty looks from people when you stop at lights lol

Just ordered the ELM327 its only a fiver so worth the gamble to see if it will do what I want on the mk5
