  • Mine's a Nov 2014 manual Tit and I get 33 although I do enjoy hitting the 'go' pedal. On cold mornings I let it run up to temp on the drive before I get in and disable stop/start.

  • Any car i have will be not that good on m.p.g how local i go. Eco boost would gain me a bit but not loads.

  • That 66MPG lark with the 1.0 EcoBoost... what a joke!!

I'm showing avg of 45 mpg over last 4000-4500 miles when I last reset it.

It may be 'illegal to coast' but that would make it illegal to change gear. Every time you put your foot on the clutch pedal to change gear you're coasting. and travelling in London with constant gear-changing means you can easily coast for over 100m for every km driven.

Anyway, my sweet 100ps Ecoboost is now registering all the fives - 55.5 mpg since the day I bought it. Very little town driving though, and coasting wherever that 1150kg lump reaches the top of a hill.

55mpg is really good! I think the highest I've gotten in the 1L ecoboost with only motorway driving is around 60ish. But that was with me driving at 60mph with no air con, windows closed etc. lol...

The Corsa also has a 1L turbo charged engine now, wonder how well that drives.

Depressing the clutch pedal to enable a change of gear isn't '' coasting '' per se.

I agree it isn't '' coasting '' per se, but it sure is coasting in fact.

55 mpg really is good. It's diesel economy but using much cheaper fuel in a cheaper, lighter vehicle, with far fewer nasty particulates, smells and noises.

Just did about 140-150 miles up the M1/M25/M4 and to Box and I've used about a quarter of a tank! I'll report my MPG next fill up :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Have been doing 42mpg all day long for the past 700 miles in 5-15 mile journeys on 30-50 mph roads.

Put 120 miles on this weekend on hilly but faster 30-70 mph roads and returned 52mpg.

So if you get it warm and do longer trips i think that seems to be the winner.

The one other difference is i topped it up before the weekend with vpower from nearly empty. Fully expect to be back to 42ish tomorrow but interesting nontheless.

I completed my 300+ round trip and averaged 49MPG (with a few days to/from work afterwards). That was with 3 adults in the car too.

I've the 100 model ecoboost and would do atleast 50 miles a day, sometimes quite bad traffic, sometimes not. At the start (I've owned it about 4 months) I'd average about 46 but I play a game with myself most of the time now where I drive economically when I can and I can average 50 on a good week but generally about 48.
I only test drove the 125 model but noticed the lack of bite in low revs. It made me think I'd constantly be giving it that wee bit too much just to feel the movement, who knows anyway.
What I think are 2 important factors, average speed and where you are driving (i.e country, traffic, motorway).
I get the best figures when I don't cane it and average about 30mph
