Rattling Noise

Featured Replies

Hi all, i own a 2007 1.4 petrol fiesta. There is an annoying rattle which seems to be coming from the passenger seat. I have removed the bottom cushion and looked around the frame, the only things i found are the plastic trims where i have stuffed paper towel between the trims to stop them vibrating, the noise is still there, the adjusting handle to slide the seat forwards and back seemed to have play in it so i pushed the cushion i removed under the handle to take up the slack, the noise is still there. I have ordered a t50 torx bit so i can remove the whole seat to take it out of the equation. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas. Thanks

I have a 2004 fiesta mk6. My passenger seat seems to have more of a squeek.. Which I'm putting down to the mount/sliders being worn :(

I ordered a t50 for my audio install and tightened everything up with it and it's solved nothing.. Just going to live with it

Is yours definitely a rattle? Have you tried pushing the seat backwards and forwards to check for play?

Thanks for the reply, yeah its a rattle/clicking sort of noise, happens over normal roads, the noise is something moving over bumps in the road, definatly in the interior. Its funny because i drive buses for a living which even the new buses rattle etc but this is annoying me.

Have you tried removing the handbrake surround and checking nothing has fallen in? :)

last rattle on a fiesta seat i looked at ended up being a coin fallen in to seat mechanism, had to remove seat and shake upside down.

Ive removed the plastic surround on the handbrake and gear lever and drove my car, couldnt see anything loose, the noise was still there. Hopefully will get the T50 torx bit this week and remove the seat, at least that will cancel out the seat, if thats the problem.

Might have got somewhere today :). Got my T50 torx bit today so removed the passenger seat. When i lifted it out of my car 3 coins fell out. Went for a run without the seat in and no rattle so the rattle was from the seat, got back and gave the seat a good shake, 4 more coins dropped out so looks like same problem as iantt. Thanks for the help guys.

Oh yes,right again! Lol
